Job Description – Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer)Position Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer – Civil Construction Project: Commercial Hotel Construction Project Location: Vijayawada / Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Site: Daspalla Project Site Experience: 5+ Years Employment Type: Full-time, Site-based Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil/building construction to join the project team for a commercial hotel construction project in Vijayawada/Amaravati. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, measurement, subcontractor billing, client billing, material reconciliation and cost control . Candidates with experience in commercial buildings, hotels, high-rise buildings or large-scale building projects will be preferred. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs and estimates for civil and finishing works. • Prepare detailed quantity calculations from architectural, structural and MEP drawings. • Conduct regular site measurements and maintain accurate measurement records. • Prepare and verify contractor/subcontractor bills based on actual site measurements. • Review subcontractor RA bills, work orders, measurements and supporting documents. • Prepare client bills / RA bills and ensure timely submission. • Carry out rate analysis for various civil, structural and finishing items. • Monitor project quantities against the BOQ and identify variations. • Prepare and maintain variation statements, extra items and deviation statements. • Track project costs and assist in maintaining effective cost control. • Reconcile quantities of key materials such as cement, steel, concrete and other construction materials. • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Planning Team, Purchase Team, Accounts Team and subcontractors. • Check drawings and specifications to identify quantity/cost implications before execution. • Maintain proper documentation of measurements, bills, work orders, quotations and quantity records. • Assist in preparing project cost forecasts and quantity/progress reports. • Support commercial negotiations with subcontractors and vendors when required. • Ensure that all billing and measurement documentation is accurate and submitted within project timelines. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer in civil/building construction. • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification. • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, measurements and billing. • Good understanding of civil construction drawings and specifications. • Experience in subcontractor billing and client billing. • Strong knowledge of rate analysis and cost estimation. • Experience handling variation orders, extra items and reconciliation statements. • Good knowledge of Excel and quantity/billing-related software. • Ability to independently handle QS activities at a project site. • Strong analytical and numerical skills. • Good coordination and communication skills.
