Summary
VillageReach is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Finance Officer to support the management of the organization’s product and service supply. The Senior Finance Officer will play a strategic role in ensuring sound and effective financial systems are in place, ensure strong internal control environment, and maintain robust & efficient payment and operational processes.
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
(i) Financial management & reporting
· Accurate maintenance of financial records i.e. accurate and timely recording of all transactions into the accounting system.
• Timely processing of payments for suppliers and staff ensuring proper documentation for backup.
• Support program teams with accurate financial data for budget and expenditure analysis
• Participate in budget preparation meetings and new proposal development.
• Ensure that Sage is up to date and systematically upload documentation to drop box.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
• Track and reconcile staff advance accounts, ensuring accurate records are always maintained.
· Generating monthly financial reports and conducting year-end processes in accordance with VillageReach policies and procedures
(ii) Risk management and control
· Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies in line with organizational policies and internal controls.
• Coordinating with both the internal and external audit teams and providing sufficient documentation for audit verification.

Education & Experience:
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance, Commerce or equivalent
· At least 2+ years of relevant experience in similar position
· Membership with a Professional body is desired
· Practical knowledge of Sage accounting system or similar package
· Analytical and Numerical Skills – Accuracy and precision in handling financial data.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English is a plus.
· Ability to work independently and take initiative.
· Experience working in team settings, preferably in an international capacity.
· Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
