***Please be advised that candidates must be permanent in the civil service title of Staff Analyst or reachable on the Staff Analyst List to apply.*** The Agency Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the management of employee benefits, resignation, retirement and leave of absence. Reporting directly to the Senior Benefits Coordinator, the Agency Benefits Coordinator responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Conduct benefits orientation for new hires. • Responsible for maintaining employees' benefit files. • Respond to all benefits, leave of absence and retirement inquires. • Ensure employees have enrolled in city benefits or opt to waive city benefits. • Notify employees of any change to City health plans and/or other benefit plans. • Coordinate agency blood drives. • Notify employees of the Health Benefits open enrollment period to change health plans. • Coordinate quarterly seminars for Deferred Compensation Plans and NYCERS • Serve as the Agency Leave of Absence Coordinator, providing consultations with employees who request leaves, processing all related writeups, and updating HR systems accordingly. • Liaise with the Management Benefits Fund (MBF) regarding employee separations and reinstatements, process all correspondence accordingly. • Provide retirement consultations to retiring employees, providing information pertaining to retiree health benefits, union benefits and pension application, and submitting relevant application forms. • Send all leave and retirement related paperwork to employees and oversight agencies in a timely manner. • Inform eligible employees of the Voluntary Defined Contribution program and assist them with completing the appropriate forms. • Acts as the agency’s Catastrophic and Dedicated Sick Leave Coordinator, process all related correspondence. • Respond all benefits, leave of absence and retirement inquiries in absence of the supervisor.
