Overview •  World Business Lenders (WBL) is a privately held portfolio lender specializing in real estate-secured business loans for underserved businesses. WBL operates with a fully remote, multinational workforce and an experienced executive leadership team. • Typically, the work schedule is from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, though additional hours may be required based on business needs. About the Role • WBL is seeking a Regulatory Associate to support regulatory research, change management, licensing, filings, disclosure requirements, examinations, and regulatory reporting. This role will help maintain a clear inventory of obligations affecting WBL's lending, servicing, and corporate activities and coordinate timely implementation across the business. What Success Looks Like • Keeps regulatory obligations, changes, licenses, filings, and deadlines accurate and current. • Converts research into clear summaries, assigned actions, and documented implementation evidence. • Supports complete and timely regulatory submissions and examination responses. • Escalates unclear, high-risk, or overdue matters to the Team Lead promptly. What You'll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities) • Regulatory Research and Change Management • Research applicable federal and state requirements affecting WBL's lending, servicing, and corporate operations. • Monitor legal and regulatory developments involving usury, licensing, disclosures, and related obligations. • Prepare clear summaries of changes, affected business processes, effective dates, and recommended next steps for review by the Team Lead or legal counsel. • Update the regulatory obligations inventory and track assigned implementation actions through completion. • Licensing, Filings, and Examinations • Maintain licensing, registration, renewal, filing, and reporting calendars and supporting documentation. • Coordinate information collection and preparation of applications, renewals, reports, certifications, and other submissions. • Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, and responses by organizing requests, owners, evidence, drafts, approvals, and deadlines. • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of submissions, approvals, correspondence, and follow-up commitments. • Business and Policy Support • Assist with regulatory reviews of new products, processes, vendors, and jurisdictional expansion. • Compare requirements against current policies, procedures, disclosures, and operational practices and identify potential gaps. • Coordinate with Legal, Operations, Lending, Servicing, Finance, and other teams to gather facts and implementation evidence. • Support updates to policies, procedures, guidance, training materials, and regulatory reference tools. • Reporting and Process Improvement • Prepare status reports on regulatory changes, licensing, filings, examinations, and outstanding actions. • Identify approaching deadlines, incomplete records, conflicting information, and overdue actions for escalation. • Maintain standardized research files, trackers, checklists, templates, and workflows. • Protect confidential and privileged information and follow documented quality-control requirements. • Education • Bachelor's degree in law, legal studies, compliance, finance, business, public policy, or a related field. • Paralegal training, JD coursework, or a compliance or regulatory credential is preferred but not required. • Required Experience •  2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal research, licensing, risk, audit, or financial-services operations. • Experience researching rules, maintaining regulatory calendars, preparing filings, or supporting examinations is preferred. • Ability to summarize complex requirements clearly and distinguish confirmed requirements from items requiring legal review. • Strong organization, writing, documentation, and deadline-management skills. Preferred Background / Industry Experience • Financial services, commercial lending, private lending, banking, fintech, specialty finance, mortgage lending, or another highly regulated industry. Specific Technical Skills Needed • Federal and state regulatory research. • Regulatory change, obligations, licensing, and filing trackers. • Examination and information-request coordination. • Microsoft Office and legal, compliance, or regulatory research systems.
