California State University, Long Beach is renovating and expanding its University Student Union, a $235 million project delivered through collaborative design-build, where one team designs and builds the project and works through the design with the University. The project runs from July 2024 to July 2028. It renovates 180,000 gross square feet of the existing building, including 160,000 square feet of indoor space and 20,000 square feet of covered outdoor walkways and seating, and adds 50,000 gross square feet of new space. The program includes food service, resource centers, offices, lounges, event spaces, conference and meeting rooms, recreation and sports spaces, accessibility upgrades, and new site work.
As Senior Construction Project Manager, you are the University's senior leader on site for the project. You manage the design and construction process from scope development and contracting through construction administration and closeout, supervise the project team, and keep day to day leadership of the project for its full life.

You guide stakeholder design decisions to keep the scope within the approved budget, coordinate value engineering, and take the design submittals through review by CSU Capital Planning, Design and Construction and the CSU Board of Trustees. You also obtain the plan reviews the project needs before bidding and keep the project in compliance with every agency that approves or inspects the work.
