Role summary The PMO Lead will establish and lead PLACE's newly created Project Management Office, designing the systems, tools and reporting cycles, annual, quarterly and project-level, that give PLACE real-time oversight of its whole program of work. This is a founding role. Rather than inheriting a fixed methodology, you'll assess how PLACE's project processes currently work, alongside a team who knows the work inside out before proposing what should change. You'll help create the conditions for a more consistent, better-supported way of delivering projects across a distributed, remote-first team. Who you are (selection criteria) • You have solid experience in project management or PMO functions, ideally within a remote or distributed team. • You have strong diagnostic skills, you assess before you prescribe. • You are collaborative, comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across a distributed team. • You are comfortable with ambiguity and manage competing priorities with a proactive, adaptable approach. • You can simplify complexity and make insights accessible to people who aren't project management specialists. • You may have a project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM or equivalent). • You demonstrate a commitment to PLACE's vision, values and principles, particularly around community leadership and shared decision-making. Research indicates that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalised individuals often wait until they fulfil every requirement. If you believe you have the attributes to do the job but don't match every point on the job ad, we welcome and encourage your application. Additional adjustments We are committed to providing an inclusive experience to all candidates. If you have a disability, condition, illness or access requirements, please let us know how we can best support you throughout your recruitment experience. We recognise that each individual's needs are different. Some examples of adjustments we can provide include (but are not limited to): • Alternative formats or ways to submit your application (verbal or video) • Flexible communication methods • Additional time to complete tasks, assessments or pre-interview work • Support from a support person or advocate during interviews • Modifications to the interview structure, environment or timing If you require additional adjustments, or would like to discuss any access needs as a part of the application and recruitment process, please contact us via email recruitment@shehrconsulting.com . Our candidate experience We aim to be transparent and kind to all of our candidates. We value your time, and as such want to share how we do things so you know what to expect with no nasty surprises. For more information on our end-to-end candidate experience, please visit the SHE HR Consulting website. How to apply To express your interest, submit an online application through our application portal and include a professional resume. All applicants must also provide brief responses to the application questions that are included as part of the online application. Note: we do not accept cover letters as part of our application process. Please also review the attached position description before applying. For a confidential discussion about the role or to request adjustments to the application process, contact recruitment@shehrconsulting.com . Applications close at 11.59 pm on Sunday 11th October Key responsibilities • Lead back-office project operations: tracking, reporting, and resourcing across PLACE's project portfolio. • Establish and maintain registers for project risks, issues, dependencies and decisions, and embed a consistent approach to escalating and resolving them. • Work closely with PLACE's Evaluation and Learning Lead to ensure project processes and reporting align with PLACE's Theory of Change and broader evaluation and learning approach. • Build strong working relationships across PLACE's distributed, remote-first team. • Establish and implement systems to monitor project delivery, ensuring activities are delivered on time and within scope. • Help establish an external panel of specialists and experts who can be engaged for contracted project work as needed. • Adapt the PMO function as PLACE's structure continues to settle following the recent restructure.
