<p>Our client in Westmeath is seeking committed and compassionate Social Care Leaders to support young people living in a residential care setting. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes safety, stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive life outcomes. You will contribute to creating a nurturing environment and play a key role in helping young people thrive.</p> <p><strong>What You'll Be Doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate records and documentation are maintained.</li> <li>Promote the rights, safety, and overall physical, emotional, and social welfare of children and young people in care.</li> <li>Support young people with education, training, healthcare appointments, and personal development while liaising with families and external agencies.</li> <li>Attend and contribute to care planning, case management, strategy, and other professional meetings, preparing reports and maintaining high-quality records.</li> <li>Provide day-to-day care and support, including age-appropriate activities, positive engagement, and physical intervention where required and in line with policy.</li> <li>Support household management, including meal preparation, budgeting, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.</li> <li>Complete accurate written and verbal reports, including progress updates and incident reporting, ensuring effective communication with the Centre Manager.</li> <li>Supervise Social Care Workers, Residential Care Workers, and students where required, providing guidance and support.</li> <li>Take responsibility for decision-making while on shift, including overall responsibility for the residential centre in the absence of senior management, and provide Deputy Manager cover when required.</li> <li>Maintain compliance with legislation, childcare best practice, organisational policies, emergency procedures, and professional development requirements, including participation in the centre's on-call rota.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care (or equivalent).</li> <li>Minimum 3 years' experience working in Children's Residential Centres.</li> <li>Full, clean driver's licence valid in Ireland.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres and Children First guidelines.</li> <li>Excellent communication, leadership, and record-keeping skills.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What's on Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary of <strong>€44,000 - €52,000 per annum</strong></li> <li>Annual <strong>3% salary increase</strong></li> <li>Comprehensive training and development opportunities</li> <li>Enhanced pension scheme with contributions above standard pension provisions</li> <li>Supportive and collaborative working environment</li> <li>Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reasonable Adjustments:</strong></p> <p>If you consider yourself to have a disability or require any reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process or within the workplace, please highlight this at the earliest opportunity by contacting our team.</p> <p>We are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List.</p> <p>BH - 202602<br>GH - 36254</p>
