Senior Account Director
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re growing our Client Services team and looking for an experienced Senior Account Director who knows how to do the work, lead the work, and see what’s coming next.
This is an opportunity to lead a high-profile healthcare client focused on health systems and innovation, partnering with a skilled, strategic team to deliver sophisticated work in the dermatology space. You’ll serve as a senior day-to-day client leader, building trusted relationships while working alongside subject-matter experts with decades of health systems experience.
We’re looking for someone who is confident in the driver’s seat. Someone who can quickly understand the client’s business, read the room, recognize what may not be getting said, and know when and how to bring the right people into the conversation. You’ll connect strategy to execution, provide senior-level counsel, oversee complex work, and continuously look for opportunities to bring greater value to the client.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Serve as a senior Client Services leader, independently owning the day-to-day client relationship and strategic oversight of the business
• Build trusted client relationships by developing a deep understanding of the client’s priorities, therapeutic area, business objectives, competitive landscape, and evolving needs
• Lead complex, large-scale engagements from strategic planning through execution, ensuring work meets client expectations, timelines, budgets, and business objectives
• Serve as a strategic partner to clients — asking the right questions, anticipating needs, navigating challenges, and bringing forward recommendations and solutions
• Translate complex client and business needs into clear strategic and tactical direction for cross-functional teams
• Lead client meetings, executive presentations, strategic recommendations, Points of View, workshops, and difficult conversations with confidence
• Partner with Strategy, Project Management, Creative, Medical, Development, and other SMEs to develop and deliver integrated solutions
• Oversee a broad mix of health systems and healthcare marketing initiatives, including value propositions, implementation guides, playbooks, executive presentations, educational materials, branded campaigns, websites, CRM and dashboard initiatives, advisory boards, workshops, and live meetings
• Maintain strategic oversight of the account while ensuring teams execute against milestones, deliverables, scopes, and client expectations
• Own the financial health of assigned business, including budgets, forecasting, estimating, SOWs, change orders, profitability, and opportunities to maximize revenue
• Identify risks and roadblocks early, develop solutions, and proactively guide internal teams and clients through challenges
• Manage client-specific medical, regulatory, and legal review processes
• Drive organic growth by listening for emerging client priorities, identifying unmet needs, and bringing forward opportunities to expand our partnership
• Partner with Client Development and SMEs on capabilities discussions, RFPs, pitches, and new business opportunities
• Provide clear, concise, and timely communication while understanding what information needs to be elevated, cascaded, or positioned differently for different audiences
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to team members while helping create an accountable, collaborative, high-performing team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
• Significant progressive account leadership experience within a healthcare/pharma agency environment
• Strong pharmaceutical marketing experience with the ability to quickly understand a therapeutic area, brand strategy, commercial objectives, and healthcare landscape
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex client relationships and large-scale engagements
• A true “do and lead” mentality — you can operate at the strategic level while remaining close enough to the work to ensure exceptional execution
• Confident, assertive, and polished executive-level client presence
• Ability to read the room, recognize what a client may not be saying, and anticipate needs before they become asks
• Strong strategic judgment and the ability to contribute meaningfully even when you are not the subject-matter expert in the room
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on clarity, quality, simplicity, and thoughtful positioning
• Strong organizational and self-management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively across a high volume of work
• Ability to think quickly, navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-moving agency environment
• Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including experience with budgets, forecasting, SOWs, change orders, and account profitability
• Ability to translate marketing strategy into effective tactical execution and measurable business impact
• Proven ability to identify organic growth opportunities by listening to client priorities, recognizing gaps, and connecting needs to potential solutions
• Self-awareness and curiosity — you know what you know, recognize what you don’t, and proactively engage the right SMEs
• Strong relationship-building, team leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills
Big Pluses:
• Health systems and/or market access experience
• Dermatology experience
• Experience supporting above-brand or therapeutic-area initiatives
• Experience with pharmaceutical brand strategy, HCP engagement, digital strategy, omnichannel marketing, customer experience, analytics, or performance reporting
• Experience with branded creative campaigns, websites, CRM programs, dashboards, and other data-driven initiatives
• Experience developing value propositions, implementation guides, playbooks, executive presentations, case studies, white papers, educational materials, workshops, and advisory boards
• Experience leading medical, legal, and regulatory review processes
• Experience developing and presenting strategic recommendations and Points of View
• Experience participating in RFPs, pitches, and new business development
