<p>Our client based in Telford is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Adult Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished practitioner to work with adults and their carers, delivering strengths-based, asset-focused, and person-centred social work interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.</p> <p>The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload, undertaking safeguarding enquiries, Care Act Assessments, support planning, reviews, and Court of Protection work where required. You will actively participate in weekly peer review meetings, contributing professional expertise and recommendations within an Asset-Based and Community-Led Support framework. The role requires strong professional judgement, effective risk management, and the ability to develop creative support solutions that utilise community resources and maximise individual strengths.</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">What will your responsibilities be?</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li>Managing a complex caseload of adults requiring assessment, safeguarding intervention, support planning, and ongoing review.</li> <li>Undertaking strengths-based Care Act Assessments and identifying eligible needs, personal outcomes, risks, assets, and community-based solutions.</li> <li>Leading and contributing to safeguarding enquiries and investigations, ensuring adults are protected from abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation.</li> <li>Participating in weekly peer review meetings, presenting cases, contributing professional opinion, and supporting recommendations for decision-making.</li> <li>Developing and reviewing person-centred support plans that maximise independence and build upon individuals' strengths, networks, and community connections.</li> <li>Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and applying the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to support informed decision-making.</li> <li>Completing Best Interests decision-making processes where required and supporting the use of least restrictive options.</li> <li>Undertaking Court of Protection applications and liaising with legal services where necessary.</li> <li>Assessing and managing complex risks, using professional curiosity and evidence-based practice to safeguard vulnerable adults.</li> <li>Working collaboratively with individuals, carers, families, advocates, health professionals, housing providers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.</li> <li>Promoting asset-based and community-led approaches, identifying local resources and opportunities that reduce reliance on traditional service provision.</li> <li>Supporting colleagues through reflective practice, providing professional guidance on complex cases and contributing to service development.</li> <li>Coordinating multi-agency responses to meet assessed needs and manage safeguarding concerns effectively.</li> <li>Preparing high-quality assessments, reports, support plans, safeguarding documentation, and Court of Protection submissions.</li> <li>Maintaining accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records in accordance with legislative, professional, and organisational standards.</li> <li>Participating in duty responsibilities and responding to urgent referrals as required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Qualifications and Experience:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">To be successful in this role you must have;</span> &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Professional Qualification:&nbsp;MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.</li> <li>Registration:&nbsp;Must be registered with Social Work England.</li> <li>Experience:&nbsp;Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care, including substantial safeguarding experience and management of complex cases.</li> <li>Legislation Knowledge:&nbsp;Thorough understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, Court of Protection processes, Adult Safeguarding legislation, and associated statutory guidance.</li> <li>Safeguarding Experience:&nbsp;Extensive experience undertaking safeguarding enquiries, risk management, and complex safeguarding interventions.</li> <li>Assessment Skills:&nbsp;Proven ability to undertake strengths-based assessments, support planning, reviews, and complex risk assessments.</li> <li>Court of Protection Experience:&nbsp;Experience preparing applications, reports, and supporting documentation for Court of Protection proceedings.</li> <li>Asset-Based Practice:&nbsp;Demonstrable experience of applying asset-based, strengths-based, and community-led approaches to social work practice.</li> <li>Multi-Agency Working:&nbsp;Ability to work effectively with health professionals, legal services, providers, carers, families, and partner organisations.</li> <li>Leadership Skills:&nbsp;Experience supporting colleagues, contributing to reflective practice, and providing professional guidance on complex cases.</li> <li>Communication Skills:&nbsp;Excellent communication, report-writing, analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills.</li>
