In 2005, ACCA secured a fully serviced office in Victoria Island in Lagos, centrally located in the business district and providing a secure environment for ACCA personnel.
2006 represented the first year of operation for ACCA Nigeria: focus has been on providing CPD opportunities for members, student and member networking events and working closely with employers to train and support ACCA students.
High growth continues, however, the activity relating to student and member growth is not at the expense of ACCA's need to ensure that it has influence in the right arenas to maintain and enhance its reputation.
There is a high demand for international accountancy qualifications from students. There are also a large number of multinational companies operating in Nigeria who view ACCA as an attractive qualification.
Now, with a thriving and growing membership of over 12,000 students, affiliates and members, ACCA Nigeria is well placed to become an increasingly important voice in the Nigerian corporate, private and public sector.
