Position Summary
OKTO is a payments technology company serving iGaming vertical. We build and operate the payment methods our merchants use to take deposits and pay outs, market by market, across local bank rails and alternative payment methods.
We are hiring a Product Owner, Payments, based in Athens, to build and deliver payment methods across our LATAM and new markets. You will take a payment method from provider evaluation through to production: analyzing the provider API documentation, defining the integration model, writing the specification and the user stories, mapping statuses and money flows, and seeing it through to a live, reconciled and fully supported method.
This is a role for someone already working in payments, who understands the technical details and leads the conversation with providers directly.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the definition, specification and delivery of payment methods and provider integrations across your markets.
• Analyze provider API documentation and define the integration model: pay-in and payout flows, callbacks and webhooks, retries, refunds and reversals, cancellations and expiries.
• Design the money flows and works with FinOps on settlement, reconciliation and reporting for each new method.
• Translate business and market requirements into clear user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
• Lead product and technical discussions with payment providers on capabilities, scope, SLAs, timelines and integration requirements.
• Align payment method design with local banking, regulatory and gaming requirements in each market, including identity and account validation on payouts.
• Partner with Engineering, QA and DevOps through delivery, and perform acceptance testing and validation before release.
• Provide ETAs, track progress against them, flag risks early and manage the dependencies that affect launch dates.
• Own post-launch activities: documentation, support material, stakeholder training, and monitoring of conversion, success rates and failure reasons per method, provider and market.
What You Bring
• Hands-on experience inside a payment organization at least 2-4 years - PSP, payment orchestrator, acquirer, payment gateway, wallet, or the payments function of a high-volume merchant.
• Proven experience delivering payment method and provider integrations across more than one provider.
• Direct experience working with payment providers and banks throughout implementation and integration.
• The ability to read and analyze API documentation independently and reason about flows, statuses, callbacks, idempotency, error handling, refunds and reversals.
• Experience in a high-volume transactional industry such as iGaming, ecommerce, marketplaces, travel, ticketing or fintech.
• Working understanding of settlement and reconciliation and how they depend on the product design.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a similar product execution role in a live, transactional environment.
• Solid grounding in agile delivery and comfort managing a backlog under real commercial pressure.
• Strong stakeholder management - you can hold your own with engineers, compliance, finance and external payment providers in the same week.
• Fluent Greek and fluent English (both mandatory).
Nice to Have
• Product experience on payment products specifically: cashier, checkout, payout, wallet, reconciliation or settlement.
• iGaming experience with an operator, platform, aggregator, or a payments provider serving gaming merchants.
• Experience launching a payment method from zero.
• Spanish language skills, a strong asset given this role’s market scope.
• Experience with SQL, Power BI or Metabases, Postman, Jira, Confluence and Monday.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on payments experience.
