ABOUT EIP Energy Infrastructure Partners LLC (EIP) is a minority-owned business specializing in energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization, and demand-side management programs. With offices in New York, Illinois, California, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington, EIP combines national reach with local market understanding. Our work advances sustainable energy solutions, supports economic development, and prioritizes benefits for disadvantaged communities. As a leader in clean energy program implementation and consulting, EIP is proud to help clients achieve meaningful environmental and economic outcomes through innovative, high-impact projects. Position Description EIP is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to serve as the strategic financial partner to the CEO and leadership team. This is a forward-looking, analytical role focused on helping EIP decide which work to pursue, how to price it, how to staff it, and how to fund growth. The Director will build the models and analyses that turn proposals, contracts, and program data into clear recommendations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director will work closely with program managers, business development, and the leadership team. They will price RFPs and proposals, analyze the profitability of every program, model when a program can support additional staff, identify the types of programs that are best for EIP's growth, and recommend working capital and financing strategies. This is a hands-on, working director role. EIP is building its FP&A function, and this leader will personally create the models, pricing tools, and planning processes from the ground up. The role starts as an individual contributor, with the opportunity to grow the function and add analyst support as EIP grows. This is not a controller or accounting operations role. Day-to-day accounting, including bookkeeping, monthly close, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and invoicing, is managed by EIP's Administrative Services team and external accounting partners. The Director of FP&A will use that financial data, partner with the accounting function on data quality, and spend their time on analysis, planning, and decision support. The ideal candidate is a strong financial modeler and strategic thinker who enjoys answering business questions with numbers, can explain tradeoffs clearly to non-finance leaders, and is comfortable making recommendations, not just reporting results. Strong senior managers who are ready to step into their first director role are encouraged to apply. Objectives of this Role • Disciplined Pricing: Ensure every RFP and proposal is priced with a clear understanding of costs, staffing, cash needs, risk, and target margin before EIP commits. • Program Profitability Insight: Give leadership a consistent, reliable view of which programs make money, which do not, and why. • Growth Strategy: Identify the types of programs, clients, and contract structures that best fit EIP's capabilities and support profitable growth. • Staffing and Capacity Decisions: Provide models that show when a program or the company can support additional staff and how that affects margin and cash. • Working Capital Strategy: Recommend strategies that improve cash flow, reduce working capital strain, and position EIP to finance its growth. • Decision-Ready Planning: Lead budgeting and forecasting as practical tools that help leadership make better decisions. Key Responsibilities • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain EIP's company-level financial model, including revenue, staffing, overhead, cash flow, and scenario analysis; update it as contracts are won, programs change, and assumptions shift. • RFP and Proposal Pricing: Partner with business development and program leaders to price RFPs and proposals; develop labor, fringe, overhead, and subcontractor cost assumptions; test pricing scenarios; and recommend bid prices and contract terms that meet margin and cash targets. • Pricing Tools and Standards: Develop standard pricing models, rate structures, and bid review checklists so pricing is consistent, repeatable, and documented across the company. • Program Profitability Analysis: Analyze revenue, direct labor, subcontractor costs, overhead allocation, utilization, and gross margin for every program; identify what is working, what is not, and what drives performance. • Program Staffing Models: Build models that show whether a program can support additional staff, the break-even point for new hires, and the impact on margin, utilization, and cash. • Portfolio and Growth Strategy: Evaluate EIP's mix of programs, clients, funding sources, and contract types; recommend which types of programs to pursue, grow, renegotiate, or exit. • Working Capital Strategy: Analyze billing cycles, payment terms, receivables, and cash timing across programs; recommend strategies to improve cash conversion and reduce working capital needs, including contract terms, billing structures, and financing options. • Capital and Financing Planning: Model EIP's capital needs under different growth scenarios; evaluate lines of credit, CDFI loans, contract-backed financing, and other options; and support the CEO in lender discussions with projections and analysis. • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts in partnership with leadership and program managers; translate expected awards, staffing plans, and delivery assumptions into financial projections. • Performance Insights: Develop dashboards and key metrics for leadership on program margin, utilization, pipeline, backlog, and cash; present clear findings and recommended actions. • Decision Support: Provide analysis for leadership on new opportunities, new markets or offices, major hires, investments, and strategic initiatives. • Data Partnership: Work with Administrative Services and the accounting team to define the data, project coding, and reporting structure needed
