About the team
The Product Accounting team at Stripe supports products across Stripe by providing guidance on accounting implications and enabling teams to make informed strategic decisions. The team records business transactions accurately and on time in the balance sheet and income statement, and partners with cross-functional and international teams in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
Stripe is seeking an experienced accountant to join our world-class accounting team, focusing on products developed by our Bridge subsidiary. You’ll leverage your technical expertise with U.S. GAAP to identify accounting implications and customer impacts and advise cross-functional partners. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate month-end close results for Bridge products, while also working on initiatives to create scalable accounting solutions..
Responsibilities
Plan and perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analytic reviews, and financial reporting deliverables for Bridge products
Identify, recommend and implement scalable accounting processes to support global growth at Bridge
Partner with our business and finance teams to understand new products, features, and contracts, and advise on accounting implications
Partner with Internal Systems and Engineering teams to improve financial systems and automate accounting processes
Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and design processes and controls for emerging business activities
Understand data and system flows, analyzing financial results to identify and address anomalies.
Support external audit processes
Who you are

Minimum requirements
7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional accountancy qualification, such as CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with internal controls
Experience with monthly or quarterly close processes, journal-entry preparation and posting, audits, regulatory reporting, financial-statement preparation, and accounting systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences
Ability to structure ambiguous work and build systems and automation
Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
Preferred qualifications
Experience in the technology or payments industry
Experience accounting for cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins
Experience with Oracle Suite
Experience with data-querying and analysis tools, including SQL
