Lead Primary Maths Specialist – Mixed Age Salary range: £41,200 to £61,800 per annum (dependent on experience) Full-time | All Year Round | 37 hours per week On site role: Based in Halifax (HX2) and Leeds (LS11) Take your Primary Maths expertise far beyond the classroom. Are you an experienced Primary Maths Teacher, Maths Lead or Primary Maths Specialist who knows what brilliant maths teaching looks like? Do you understand the realities of teaching mathematics in mixed-age classes - and have ideas about how curriculum and resources could make it work even better? Perhaps you love teaching and education, but you're ready to use your experience differently. You want a new challenge where you can still make a difference to teachers and children, without your next career move necessarily being another role in school. This is your opportunity to take everything you've learned as a teacher and make an impact far beyond the classroom. We're looking for a Lead Primary Maths Specialist – Mixed Age to join White Rose Education and lead the development of our mixed-age primary mathematics offer. Your expertise. A much bigger reach. At White Rose Education, we create curriculum, resources, assessments and professional development used by teachers and schools across the UK and internationally. And behind those resources are people who understand classrooms. For this role, we're looking for someone who really understands the opportunities and challenges of mixed-age maths teaching. You'll take the lead on developing and continuously improving our mixed-age mathematics offer, ensuring teachers have the curriculum, resources and support they need to deliver ambitious, coherent maths education to every child – regardless of how their classes are organised. This isn't about leaving your teaching experience behind. It's about taking it with you – and using it to make a difference far beyond the classroom. What could you be doing? This is a varied role combining primary mathematics expertise, curriculum development, educational leadership and people management. One day, you might be exploring how mathematical concepts should be sequenced across mixed-year classes so pupils continue to progress without unnecessary repetition. Another might see you developing and quality-assuring new resources, working directly with schools to test ideas or delivering professional development to teachers and school leaders. You'll also play an important role in the leadership of our Primary Maths team, supporting and developing other specialists and deputising for the Head of Primary Maths when required. You could be: • leading the development and continuous improvement of our mixed-age primary maths curriculum and resources; • using your classroom experience to solve the practical challenges faced by teachers working with mixed-year groups; • translating the National Curriculum, educational research and emerging curriculum reform into resources teachers can genuinely use; • creating and quality-assuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment materials; • working with mixed-age schools to test ideas, gather feedback and continually improve what we offer; • designing and delivering CPD and professional development for teachers and school leaders; • supporting, mentoring and line managing members of our Primary Maths team; • representing White Rose Education through webinars, conferences, blogs and professional networks; and • working with colleagues across White Rose Education to help shape the future of our Primary Maths offer. This is a role where you'll have the space to think deeply about mathematics education – and the opportunity to turn that thinking into something practical. Something teachers can use. Something that works in classrooms. Something that makes a difference. Why White Rose Education? You may already know White Rose Maths. What you might not know is what it's like to be one of the people behind it. White Rose Education brings together teachers, curriculum specialists, researchers, designers, developers, product specialists and commercial teams with one shared ambition: to create genuinely useful products and services that make a difference to education. We're proud of what we've built, but we're much more interested in what comes next. That's why we want people who contribute rather than simply fit in. People with ideas. People who ask good questions. People who care about getting things right and aren't afraid to challenge how something has always been done. For an experienced teacher, working here offers something particularly special. The lesson you've taught successfully could influence a resource. The challenge you've encountered in a mixed-age classroom could inspire a better solution. Your understanding of curriculum could shape how thousands of teachers approach theirs. Your expertise could reach far beyond the classroom. That's what makes working at White Rose different. Could it be you? You might currently be a Primary Maths Teacher, Maths Subject Leader, Primary Teacher, Maths Lead, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Teaching and Learning Lead or Maths Specialist. Your job title matters less to us than the expertise you've developed. You'll need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial successful experience teaching mathematics in the primary phase - we're looking for at least five years. Crucially, you'll also need experience of teaching, leading or supporting mathematics in mixed-age settings. You'll have a deep understanding of the Primary Mathematics National Curriculum and how mathematical knowledge develops and progresses across year groups. You'll understand that a great resource needs to do much more than look good on a page. It needs to be mathematically accurate, carefully sequenced, grounded in evidence and – most importantly – work for the teacher standing in front of a class. We're also looking for someone ready to lead. You'll have experience of support
